OOTY HILLS STATION
Ooty is situated deep within the Nilgiri hills. It is located 80 km north of Coimbatore. It is a popular hill station located in the Nilgiri Hills. Originally occupied by the Todas, the area came under the rule of the East India Company at the end of the 18th century. Today, the town's economy is based on tourism and agriculture, along with manufacture of medicines and photographic film.
AVALANCHE LAKE
Avalanche Lake is an important tourism destination in the Nilgiris district. The lake is surrounded by a rolling landscape with blooming flowers like magnolias, orchids and rhododendrons. Tourists can traverse beside the lake through winding paths around the lake. Tourists visiting the lake can also engage themselves in Trout fishing. A trout hatchery is established near the lake, from where visitoras can get fishing rods and other fishing accessories required for trout fishing.
OOTY ROSE GARDEN
The Government Rose Garden (formerly known as the Jayalalithaa Rose Garden, Centerary Rose Park and Nootrandu Roja Poonga) is the largest rose garden in India. It is situated on the slopes of the Elk Hill in Vijayanagaram of Ooty town in Tamil Nadu, India at an altitude of 2200 meters.
OOTY LAKE
Ooty lake is located in Ooty in the Nilgiris district, Tamil Nadu, India. It covers an area of 65 acres. The Boat house situated by the lake, which offers boating facilities to tourists, is a major tourist attraction in Ooty.
OOTY BOTANICAL GARDEN
The Government Botanical Garden is a botanical garden in Udhagamandalam, Tamil Nadu state, India laid out in 1848. The Gardens, divided into several sections, cover an area of around 22 hectares, and lie on the lower slopes of Doddabetta peak.
STONE HOUSE
Stone House was the first bungalow constructed in Ooty. It was built by John Sullivan and was called Kal Bangala by the tribals. Today, it is the official residence of the Principal of the Government Arts College, Ooty.
MUKURTHY NATIONAL PARK
Mukurthy National Park is a 78.46 km protected area located in the western corner of the Nilgiris Plateau west of Ootacamund hill station in the northwest corner of Tamil Nadu state in the Western Ghats mountain range of South India.
NILAGIRI RAILWAY
The Nilgiri Mountain Railway is a railway in Tamil Nadu, India, built by the British in 1908, and was initially operated by the Madras Railway. The railway still relies on its fleet of steam locomotives. NMR comes under the jurisdiction of the newly formed Salem Division. In July 2005, UNESCO added the Nilgiri Mountain Railway as an extension to the World Heritage Site of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, the site then became known as "Mountain Railways of India".
OOTY BOATING WATERFALLS
19 km from Ooty. The river has a dam and power plant. There is a breath taking scenery. The falls, about 6 km from the bridge on the main road, are best in July, but they are also worth visiting from August to December. There is a forest rest House at Pykara. A boat house by the Pykara falls and Dam is added attractions to the tourists. Pykara boasts of well protected fenced Sholas, Toda settlements, undistributed grassy meadows and also a good wildlife habitat.
COONOOR
Coonoor is close to western ghats it enjoys a good rainy season. Summer is hot but temperatures do not causes discomfort. Winter is pleasant and enjoyable. Temperature ranges from 16 to 41&#deg;C. Sugarcane and vegetables are the main crops in and around this region
MUTHUMALAI SARANALAYAM
Gudalur Municipality, one of the Major towns in West TamilNadu and is located at 52 km from Ooty in the hilly terrain of Nilgris district. It is situated at the junction of Tamilnadu, Kerala and Karnataka states. It is located at a longitude of 76030' E and a latitude of 11030' N and lies at an altitude of about 950m above MSL. Gudalur is also a Taluk Headquarters and is located at 150 Km from Coimbatore City.
